Guidelines for Authors

  • Authors with accepted abstracts will have the possibility to submit either an extended abstract or a full paper (read below).
  • Following the conference, selected full papers will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Architectural Heritage devoted to SAHC 2025.

Abstract submission

The abstract submission is open until September 15, 2024 October 20, 2024 closed.

When submitting your abstract, you can select one or more of the conference topics that best align with your contribution. Learn more about the conference topics and special sessions here.

Publication options

  • The full paper or extended abstract submission is open until March 16, 2025
  • For submitting your contribution:

    • Access the conference management platform using the button below.
    • Go to “Your Submissions”.
    • Click on “1. Edit Contribution Details to Select the Presentation Format” to choose the format of your contribution. You can also modify authorship details, the title, and the abstract.
    • Click on “2. Upload File(s)” to upload the files related to your contribution.

Full paper

  • Full papers submitted to SAHC 2025 will undergo a technical peer-review process. Upon acceptance, they will be assigned a DOI and will be published in the RILEM Bookseries (Springer Nature). The proceedings will be indexed in the Scopus database, among others.
  • Please note at least one author should must be registered for the paper to be considered for publication.
  • Each full paper should be between 6 and 12 pages in length, excluding references.
  • Before preparing your manuscript, please read carefully the Springer Nature Guide to Copyright Permissions.
  • The template for full papers must strictly adhere to the publisher’s guidelines. Templates for both Word and LaTeX formats are available below.
  • Please sign and submit in .pdf the RILEM publication agreement, which can be downloaded below.
  • If you want your full paper to be published as Open Access, please contact us in sahc2025@epfl.ch. We will inform you about the Article Publication Costs by Springer and the publishing procedure.

Extended abstract

  • Extended abstracts submitted to SAHC 2025 will undergo a technical peer-review process. Upon acceptance, they will published and made available as Open Access by EPFL library.
  • Please note at least one author should must be registered for the extended abstract to be considered for publication.
  • Each extended abstract should be between 2 and 4 pages in length, excluding references.
  • The template for extended abstracts must strictly adhere to the guidelines. Templates for both Word and LaTeX formats are available below (same as for the full papers).
  • Please sign and submit in .pdf the EPFL Library publication agreement, which can be downloaded below.

Templates

  • Word users: Submit your paper in both .pdf and .doc formats. Name the files using the assigned ID followed by the first author’s name (e.g., 1358_Smith.pdf).
  • LaTeX users: Submit your paper in .pdf and .zip formats. The .zip file should include all source files required for compiling the PDF (e.g., bibliography, figures, etc.). Name the files using the assigned ID followed by the first author’s name (e.g., 1358_Smith.pdf).

RILEM Publication agreement (full papers)

Name the document as “RILEM” followed by the assigned ID and the first author’s name (e.g., RILEM_1358_Smith.pdf). Submit the signed form in .pdf.

EPFL Library Publication agreement (extended abstracts)

Name the document as “EPFLPA” followed by the assigned ID and the first author’s name (e.g., EPFLPA_1358_Smith.pdf). Submit the signed form in .pdf.
